Group Therapy
Many of the problems experienced by children occur within a social context. For example, a child may have difficulty waiting his turn in a game or struggle to initiate a conversation with someone new. Similarly, another child may feel overcome with anxiety when around peers and have trouble regulating her behavior. For many childhood issues, group therapy can be the best form of intervention.
We offer social skills groups for children ages 5 to 10. These groups are best for children who struggle to get along with peers/siblings, need help regulating behavior and emotions, and/or are especially shy or anxious in social situations.
Our groups are run by Dr. Andrea Potthoff, a licensed psychologist. They run in 8-week sessions and include parental education and training as necessary. For more information about our group program, please call us at 612-470-4099 or email us at andrea@dendrinospsychology.com.
